What it is
The Scientific Sessions is the annual meeting of the American Diabetes Association. The 2027 edition runs from June 18 to 21 at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, DC. The ADA calls it the largest and most prominent conference focused on diabetes. It combines research presentations, the Standards of Care and an exhibit hall that the organizer's exhibitor page calls the world's largest diabetes tradeshow.

Attendees are researchers and clinicians: physicians, nurses, endocrinologists, cardiologists, registered dietitian nutritionists, diabetes educators and scientists. The ADA says it annually welcomes over 12,000 researchers and clinicians. The exhibitor page says the 2026 meeting engaged more than 8,000 in-person professionals. The 2027 meeting is not livestreamed, and on-demand access opens on June 23, 2027.
